The Beginning
A Dream Brewed in Wichita
Greater Grounds Coffee & Co. was founded by Byron McSwain, a lifelong music lover who saw an opportunity to bring something unique to downtown Wichita\'s historic Douglas Avenue. His vision was simple but powerful: create a space that combines the art of specialty coffee with the magic of live music and genuine human connection.
What started as a dream quickly became Wichita\'s go-to community hub. With exposed brick walls, tall ceilings, cozy seating areas, and a grand piano that anchors the space, Greater Grounds isn\'t just a place to grab coffee — it\'s a destination.
Today, the shop serves as a launching pad for local musicians, a meeting ground for friends old and new, and a place where every cup is crafted with care. From the signature "Queen Bee" latte to the beloved Yoder Cinnamon Roll (sourced from a local bakery), everything reflects a commitment to quality and community.

Every cup at Greater Grounds starts with carefully selected, ethically sourced coffee beans. We work with roasters who share our passion for quality, ensuring that each sip delivers the rich, complex flavors that our customers have come to love.
Our baristas are trained artisans who take pride in every drink they craft. Whether it\'s the signature Piano Man with its blend of dark and white mocha, or a simple pour-over done to perfection, consistency and care are at the heart of everything we do.
And it\'s not just about coffee. Our crepes are made fresh to order, our pastries sourced from local bakeries, and our cocktails crafted with the same attention to detail. We believe every item on our menu should be worth coming back for.
